Hi! My name is Dr. Angela F. and I would enjoy tutoring you in any area of the biological sciences that you may need, as well as communication and natural sciences. I also help with research papers and theses. I have been tutoring professionally since 1992, and have tutored and coached many students through their courses, as well as assisted many with entrance examinations. I've been teaching for twenty-four years now at the college level. I currently teach Biology and Anatomy and Physiology for Edgecombe Community College and both Biology and Biological Anthropology for North Carolina Wesleyan College. I have taught a variety to science courses in addition to general biology - histology, embryology, cell and molecular biology, genetics, immunology, and anatomy and physiology. I was also in the US Army Reserves, and served active during Desert Storm in Kuwait. I started out as a photographer (many of my Desert Storm photos were published in magazines like Life) but cross-trained as a Forensic Anthropologist so I spent quite a bit of my time with a remains identification unit. Following 9-11, I joined a military/civilian team and worked Ground Zero with a remains identification unit from December 2001 until May 2002. I again worked with a remains identification group in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina. I have spent a significant amount of time living in Madagascar studying handedness in sifakas (lemurs) and in Costa Rica working with white-faced capuchins. Obviously, biological and forensic anthropology are my academic passions. My husband and I have also spent several summers in Ethiopia working with locals on water quality issues. Andrew is also trained as an environmental scientist. I most recently completed a three-year grant in Chile where I've been working with the locals on treatment and education about schistosomiasis - a parasite that is prevalent in the area and can attack the bladder and intestines (two different species). I work my photography into my work with both the primates and anthropological projects and occasionally have photos in National Geographic, Natural History, Smithsonian, and similar publications.

Hobbies
I live on the beautiful Pamlico River in the historic town of Bath, NC, with my husband, local author and chef Andrew, with our wonderful dog (Piper), seven cats, and three corn snakes. We enjoy foreign travel, having visited twenty-six countries during the last decade. I do stain-glass restorations of historic windows in my spare time. I enjoy music and artwork of all types, but travel is my real passion.
